+ What happens to my website if Kwikwap goes out of business? This is an important question to ask when selecting a web design company. Kwikwap is an established Web Design Company with more than 2000 clients all over South Africa. Besides the Head Office Franchise there is already 8 other operating franchises. Kwikwap is thus established and likely to be in business for a long time. No other company designs as many websites on a daily basis as Kwikwap. + Can I arrange to pay for the website design in installments? Yes we can talk about it. You have to pay the full amount on the day you receive training and the website is handed over to you. + In whose name do you register the domain? We regsiter the name in our name on your behalf. This is simply to simplify admin. Once you have paid for the domain then that implies ownership. We will release your domain provided you are not in arrears with your hosting fees which is payable monthly. Either party can give 30 days notice to cancell the hosting agreement. + How much does a demo of Kwikwap cost? Nothing. I will come and spend 30 minutes to demonstrate Kwikwap to you for free. + Do I have to host with Kwikwap? Yes and no... you basically rent the software on which your website is built from Kwikwap. You can not take your website and host it somewhere else without paying Kwikwap a monthly fee. You can choose to stay with your current hosts and point your www.records to the Kwikwap servers. + How often can I change my template? You can change your templateonce a day if you like. You do not lose any data. All that changes is where your data is displayed. + Can I do my own design to Kwikwap? Yes we can manually link your design to the Kwikwap product at an additional cost. You will have all the normal benefits except you willnot be able to changethe look and feel of your website. Hopefully soon you will be able to automatically upload your complete own designed website automatically. + Is there a limit on the number of pages I can have on my website? No we do not have an official limit on the number of pages but expect 500 pages. + What is the most important thing a website owner can do to improve Search Engone Results with their Kwikwap Website Probably the most important factor when it comes to doing well on search engines under organic search results is that you must have a proper informative website and most importantly always use your own original data. Do not copy data from other websites. Always write in a natural way and consider factors such as key Word Density. Google Webmaster Tools is a good place to get more information on SEO. (Search Engine Optimisation) + What if Kwikwap's hosting fees suddenly goes trough the roof? There has not been an increase in the hosting fees since inception. It would be fair to expect inflation linked increases in future but Kwikwap are also subject to the laws of demand and offer and any unrealistic increase would see them lose too much clients. + Where do you build/create the websites? Building or designing your website is a process. We will do some of that at our own offices and some of it in your presence. We do not expect you to proceed with your website unless you are happy with what the website looks like. The more information that we are supplied with when starting the project the easier it is for us to design a website for you. We need about two or three meetings with you to finalise the website. + Why do you design websites? We love doing the work that we do. We need to be salesman, artists, teachers, business administrators and professionals. Without an awesome product like Kwikwap we would probably not be in the industry. Kwikwap is busy changing the web design industry for small businesses. Firstly it is affordable, secondly it is user friendly and thirdly it changes peoples lives for the better. Business people and website owners can no longer ignore having proper content on their websites and with a user friendly tool such as Kwikwap a good informative website can be build up over time. + Is it better to have one website with a lot off data when we provide different products and services? Depending on the nature of the differences in the products and services it may sometimes be better to have a different website for different products and services. Francois for example is a qualified accountant and also does business plans. Some people do not want to get a website done by a nerd accountant - lol! It just does not suit the image and people respect specialists. Beside the "image" factor there is also the important "Keyword density factor". "Keywords density" measures the number of times/percentage a keyword appears divided by the total number of words of a website. In order to get higher rankings we need to make things simple for Google so Google can understand what our websites are about. To understand this concept better it is best to use a practical example. Google for a laminate floor installer / service. See which websites comes up first. Always the guys who specialise in laminate floors. Installing laminate floors are easy and many builders and or handy men can also install laminate floors and in fact do offer those services. Very seldom will you find those websites on page 1 of google when people are searching for laminate floors. Why? Because of keyword density, because the builder also does plumbing, electrical work, tiling etc. The person searching for Laminate floors wants Laminate floors and what better website to present (when Google gives back search results) than those websites specialising in Laminate Floors.
+ How do i improve my Google Results? This is the question that everybody wants to know. You can either pay Google (Sponsored Ads) or get to page one of Google for Generic Search Terms. You need to get proper guidance and training to be able to manage your own website with a focus on using YOUR OWN, original content. Content is King. We will submit your website to robots with Sitemaps . + I don't know what to put on my website. Any ideas for content for my website? Yes. We do it ourselves. We scrutinize our email outbox and inbox to expand on our frequently asked questions section for our website as well as trying to improve on our website's general information. Here is a practical example of an email just send out to a client a couple of minutes ago. Like a professional golf player ,without thinking we are able to write emailslike this. It would be better if we had a topic on this subject which is good enough to send to a new client. I hope we have. See Newsletter / Blog about the basics of a website. Here is the email and I have just absically repeated myself. ( A properly written complete website should save a business owner time which is why I write a lot, but unfortunately i like it so much I end up having more and more wrok that needs editing and proofreading. Lol! Mr Karriem I see that Melanie has made the website look nicer.
I have noticed that your about us text , which is important for Google, has not been written.
Also that the Faq section could be expanded on.
Try and write in a natural way but try and use important Keywords like...
Eg
Start the about us with something like this:
Budget Furniture sells quality Budget Furnity to the public from its shops in Ottery , Cape Town. People from all over Cape Town visit us for regular specials on products like coffee tables , beds, drawers. We are well known for.......
Then , only then, start with...
We are a family business started in 1991.....
Then for faq's
Does Budget Furniture offer Guarantees on it's cheap furniture?
We do not sell cheap furniture, but quality furniture at low (budget) prices. Guarantees are available and depend on the manufacturer.
You will be pleasantly surprised at the results if you follow our advice on content on your website.
Allways use your own text, don't copy from other websites.
I see Melanie has received quite a bit of photographs?
I hope you can meet and the right person can get the training but may i suggest we first focus on the basics like the about us text, products and the faq's.
Regards
+ My Kwikwap Webwerf lyk nie so goed nie.
Melanie is steeds gebaseer in Tokai.
+ How does one setup your gmail account to email as if from another email address? Answer taken from an email to actual client: "There is currently an e-mail forward from info@acro-africa.org to 2354190@gmail.com.
With regards to the gmail account settings you can add the POP account in order to send and receive e-mails from that account. You will need to go to the gmail account 2354190@gmail.com, then you go to Settings > Accounts. There you will need to add the POP account, being info@acro-afrca.org
by following all of the steps involved.
Once it is set up you can now send and receive e-mails from both info@acro-africa.org as well as 2354190@gmail.com. When sending an e-mail from the other account, not the gmail account, it will show the following : 2354190@gmail.com; on behalf of; info@acro-africa.org.
Lastly, because there is an e-mail forward set up on the info@acro-africa.org account, you will then receive double e-mails through gmail.
We can then remove that e-mail forward if you'd like.

+ Need someone to help with SEO for company website. Small IT support company, need to actually show up in search results for region we serve. Also other marketing ideas to help us get our names out there. This is a very open ended job and would love to hear ideas about what you think you can accomplish and how you can help. Yes we can definitely help with SEO for a small company website. The first part of our offering is helping you to understand how search works and what the difference is between On Site SEO and Off Site SEO. With you being a small IT support company you should have no problems with using the free Google Webmaster Tools provided. You should also most definitely register your business on Google my business. The Google my business page should be linked to your company website. The same can be said for your companies Facebook page. Local and relevant search results are achieved better by Google. It's not that they have changed what they wanted to do but they changed their algorithms to include more weight on Google my business registrations as well as important local business directories. Being a small IT support company you should also definitely team up with a local small business web designer. In any event you could be referring work to each other. You can ask your clients to link to your website. SEO is only one marketing strategy to market your business website. The basics of On Site SEO is to include the right words on your website : example "IT Support Company Cape Town servicing the Western Cape" , choosing an appropriate domain name eg "www.capeitsupport.co.za" and including a list of references , recent work or testimonials from local clients and including their names and addresses. It also includes making your really important keywords easy to find. Remember about other ways to market your website: Facebook , Business Cards , Local Newspapers , Signage on your vehicles. Congratulations on getting your website. That's the first step in the right direction. Create a habit of blogging once a month , developing your Faq section of your website , send a monthly newsletter to your clients. There are many ways. This all is made that easier if you have a user friendly CMS and you can easily do updates to your own website. Hope this information helps. + Mobile site : I have made amendments to my site but this has not pulled through to the mobile site We have created a separate homepage for the Mobile version and the desktop version due to changes in responsive web design needs. Every month new devices are added by which the internet can be accessed. On your normal desktop website we use tables to display the website neatly. Tables does not work wqell for example on mobile websites. The screen of a mobile device is only so big. You will have to add the same content twice. Once on mobile website and once on desktop website. See the image below where a is where the desktop version is accessed and b is where the mobile version is accessed. + I would like to discuss with you the possibility of updating the website, getting it to the top of the ‘enquiry heap’, and also how all enquiries could feed into your own tourist websites. And also create a Face Book page for Casa Fred. The tourism market is extremely competitive for the top of the SERP (Search Engine Result Pages) but there are things that can be done to Improve on SEO. (Search Engine Optimisation).
More text/content on the website and then also actions "off" the website like a Google my business page (Free from Google). SEO can be divided between On-Site SEO and Off-Site SEO.
A single home holiday establishment has to complete against accommodation directory websites such as Where to stay, Air-BNB etc. Listing on such websites has to be done if you are concerned with making the business a viable concern.
You do not need to have a Facebook page to share the website on Facebook. Certain Facebook groups specialise in topics such as holidays, accommodation and often in a specific geographical area like Mozambique or Barra Reef. Having a Facebook Page is good for any business website's SEO. Having an interesting Facebook Page with content that engages people and which people would like to share can do well.
All of these actions, whether spending time on your website's content, having a Facebook page or listing with directories will require time and sometimes money. One can also advertise directly with Google. One has to find the right mix which will, in the end, make the business, considering time and money spend on advertising, a viable concern.
I will have a look at some of the Facebook Pages and advertising avenues which might assist in exactly that. My brother just spent 4 weeks overseas with all his children by doing a holiday home exchange with his Holiday home in Hermanus so that too can be considered if you do take overseas holidays.
+ I copied a document from MS Word to my Kwikwap Website and now the format looks funny or different to the fonts on my Kwikwap website. How do I fix this? When copying a document from MS Word you must use either the Paste from Word or paste as plain text to paste the information to your Kwikwap website. Thereafter you can format the text within the Kwikwap website. Else you will copy the MS Word format and sometimes with bugs that override the CSS of your website. Cascading Style Sheets determines the default font your Kwikwap website uses. See the image below to see where is the paste from Word or the paste as plain text icons: + I want a landing page on my Kwikwap website. How does it work? To create a landing page on your website you need to select various content tools under other content and then select "landing page". See the image below where you find your Kwikwap landing page builder. Please note that only one page can be created at a time. You MUST include a link to your standard home page at least in the page which would be for example www.mywebsite.co.za/wmenu.php because the content you enter below is the ONLY thing the viewers will see. This will be the first page your website visitors see when entering your website address into their browser. You can then redirect them to any place on your website using your chosen links.
+ Is it safe to publish my bank details on my website? Your bank details will only be made known to people ordering a product from you. Many individuals and businesses include their bank details on invoices in order to receive payment without worries about being hacked. You obviously always have to protect your passwords for internet banking. As added security measure banks require that a 1-time pin be sent to either a cellphone number or specified email address. Hackers thus need more info than your bank account number before they can log into your account and cause damage. They try and get this information for example by getting a lot of personal information about you and then make telephonic contact, pretending to be your bank where they for example will ask you to confirm your secret pin. (A recent example of cybercriminals obtaining personal details is the recent data breach experienced by the credit bureau Experian.) The secret passwords were not obtained but personal information was obtained. One always has to be extremely careful when receiving a phone call from somebody claiming to represent your bank. But there is a lot of bank details of many businesses and individuals out in the open (On tax invoices and statements). Some business owners who bank with Standard Bank and have business accounts have the added requirement of having to carry a small physical device with them when logging into internet banking. + Kwikwap Websites : I need to find out where the analytics section is. Need to paste tracking ID for Google ads there. You will find the Google Tag Manager under the Value-added section of your Kwikwap website. See image below: Select the tag manager section. The following will appear: There is a useful video from Google explaining the Google Ad Manager. Kwikwap also offers help for Google Ad services. The services are affordable starting from R500 per month with no locked-in periods. Most companies offering Google AdWords services require a contract period. Even when paying Google you might need professional help. Kwikwap has Google-certified AdWords specialists. They can assist with both Kwikwap and WordPress websites.
